Our network was designed specifically to address the network needs of small and medium business owners in the local Charlottesville area. This is significantly different from the approach taken by all other ISP’s in delivering service to all market segments with a one-size fits all approach.

We deliver fractional T1 or greater connectivity to each of the sites we service. We order our circuits to connect directly from Sprint’s network to ours at their central wiring office. We troubleshoot and maintain all of our own circuits and connections. We manage and maintain all of our own equipment from our office.

No dial tone or phone lines are brought in to “masquerade" some other ISP’s service. To be able to do these things, we’ve become a “CLEC" (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, also known as the Telephone Company).

We have offices just off West Main Street in downtown Charlottesville. This very convenient location enables us to get to your site quickly in the event of a service-affecting issue and allows us to better assist you in resolving any technical issues. We make service visits to our customers at no charge.

Simple

1. We invoice your office for the agreed upon amount each month. We provide all electronics, circuits, monitoring and maintenance.

2. Your firm provides the PC and any related Local Area Network (LAN) equipment needed to connect your office internally. Once connected, we provide the service, support and maintenance.

3. Our systems automatically manage the bandwidth to your office and can also manage the bandwidth to your web servers and mail servers as well. In this way, no single user or device has the ability to “hog" all of the bandwidth. Predictable and reliable Internet service, managed for you.

Responsible

We do not “resell" someone else’s Internet Service. We are the Internet Service Provider and the Phone Company. The equipment used to connect everything is located in our offices. We’ve invested in reliable equipment and have spare equipment on site for any failure. We are directly connected to the Internet backbone via SONET (a failsafe fiber optic system) connection. We are also directly connected (peered) to the UVa network. This allows your office quicker access to any educational or research data stored there.

Fast

High-Speed Access. We mean high-speed in both directions, not just one. We may be unique in offering up to 3.0MBps of “synchronous" Internet bandwidth to some areas of town already with our “CAVMUX" product. We may also be unique in providing each commercial customer its own IP subnet (not shared). You always get dedicated IP addresses. Each of our customers can easily host its own mail, application and web servers without having to NAT this or PAT that.

Just added to our list of FAST products, is our new "CAVFAST" Internet Service. For very high bandwidth needs to your company, we can easily offer up to a 5-155MBps synchronous connection. From your office, we'll plug you directly into one of our Cisco customer access routers, on your own interface, and provide some basic rules and filters to suit your special needs. The best part is the price. We find we are less than the basic cost for two retail T1's, and our transport fees are included in the overall price! Of course we also offer DS3 and OC3 services too.
